Stationing

Stationing

The Stationing Process is a Methodist Church of New Zealand process.  It will not be the same as other churches, nor is it the same as an employment process. Please note that the Stationing Process and Time frame has important information for Presbyters, Parishes and Synod Superintendents. The documents below are for the 2022/3 Stationing Process.

Moving to New Zealand

John, Abigail, Hosea and Moses are the Carr Family. John & Abigail have been married for 12 years and have lived and served in several different places around the world.

Originally from the United States, they have lived in Haiti where they worked with local churches and did micro-business enterprising. After having their two boys, they moved to Northern Ireland where John served as the associate pastor of a small church. Then they planted a church in Christchurch, New Zealand where Abigail served as the worship leader and John served as senior pastor. Most recently they have done ministry in Hawaii where John served as the senior pastor on the island of Kaua'i and soon they are to return again to the beautiful New Zealand. John will be pastoring the Western Bay of Plenty Circuit while Abigail continues to pursue her work as a Spiritual Director.

Whether it is trying to navigate the border closures due to the Covid-19 pandemic or normal ministry communication, John has felt immense gratitude for the opportunity to work with and be supported by the Methodist Church of Aotearoa.
