Archives Catalogue
A complete and up-to-date catalogue of the collection is currently under development, and we hope to make this available by the end of 2025.
Currently the following collection lists are available for you to download and keyword search (simply hit 'ctrl + f' to load a search box within each individual list).
Some of our collection lists are not available online as they contain sensitive personal information restricted under The Privacy Act 2020, or information still confidential to The Methodist Church of New Zealand.
Research Enquiries
Please do not hesitate to ask an archivist via our enquiry form should you wish to make an appointment to view any listed archives in person, make use of our remote research and copying service, or if you have any difficulty finding what you are looking for. We are here to help!

Other repositories holding MCNZ Archives
Te Taha Māori holds many historical records of significance in their own archival storage in Auckland.
Most Otago and Southland Methodist parish and church archives are held in the Hocken Archives, University of Otago.
Some Methodist Church of New Zealand archives are also held in the collections of the Alexander Turnbull Library, John Kinder Library, Auckland City Library's Sir George Grey Collection, and Puke Ariki.
Some Methodist synods, regional missions, parishes, and churches still retain their archives (or a portion of their archives) on site. You can find their individual contact details here.
Where parishes and churches have become co-operative or interdenominational, archives may be held by us, or by one of the other denominational archival bodies throughout Aotearoa.
