Professional Development Grants Committee
The Professional Development Grants Committee wishes to alert the wider church that there are limited funds available. The main source of income is an annual grant from the Connexional Budget. This has been reduced for the 2024 year to $10,000. Income from a PAC Endowment Fund has also been impacted by low interest rates. The capital of the Fund cannot be touched.
The Committee is concerned that reduced funding severely limits the ability of the Committee to meet all requests for funding assistance. Not funded are retrospective grants (applications received after the programme or event has been completed) or private study which does not directly benefit the MCNZ.
The Committee asks that Parishes and Synods assist applicants to fully complete application forms as incomplete applications cannot be considered and asks, where possible, that Parishes and Synods support applicants with finding funding from alternative sources.
