Our Community
Our commitment to the National Methodist Church's decade of "Let the Children Live" includes supporting the local truancy officer as she generously gives of her skills, time and resources to support families in our community who are in need.  We are also building up our link to the Kainga Aroha Community House which is right next door to our church and provides many services to community families.
We are part of the Light Party each October. This annual event, run by the Combined Christian Churches in Te Awamutu, is held as an alternative to Halloween and now attracts three to four thousand people.
The Te Awamutu Combined Christian Churches also hold a Town Blessing each February. There is a lunch and guest speaker. Representatives from local government, business, sport, health and social groups attend and each of these sectors are prayed for.
Part of our premises is given over to the Te Awamutu Toy Library and we have supported this group in an expansion of their space.

With a hall and large kitchen, and a lounge and smaller kitchen, a number of community groups use our facilities including:

Fish and Game Club
Bison Lodge
Diabetes Support Group
Salvation Army Home Care
Ministry of Education Parents Course
Tai Chi
Zumba Gold
Country Music
"Arkadash" Dance Club
Highland Dancing
Alcoholics Anonymous 

And our Church is known for it's excellent acoustics and is used by:
Music Federation
Waitomo Caves Choir
Music teacher's End of Year Recital
