 27  7pm. Chartwell Co-operating Church Progressive Exploration Service, corner Comries road and Bellmont Avenue, Chartwell, Hamilton. This service is an exploration of the Christian faith and issues of importance in our time from the perspective of progressive and emerging theology. It allows time for discussion and presents thoughtful comment on the journey of faith in our day.

Rod Oram

Rod Oram has 40 years' experience as an international business journalist. He has worked for various publications in Europe and North America, including the Financial Times of London.  Since moving to New Zealand 20 years ago Rod has been the editor of the business section of the New Zealand Herald, a columnist for the Sunday Star-Times and a regular commentator on radio and television, winning numerous awards.  Rod is also a committed Christian, attending St Andrews Anglican Church in Epsom, and regularly speaks to groups about the inter-relationship between gospel perspectives on social issues, business and the economy.

Tonight, Robert Moore from the Social Justice Centre at Anglican Action and Alex Bailey from Social Justice Office of the Catholic Diocese of Hamilton will present some of the findings of their recent report on food poverty in Hamilton.  This report was commissioned by Kaivolution, a relatively new initiative to redistribute food to those in need rather than having it go to waste.  The report includes reflections, experiences, aspirations, and suggested actions and solutions from a variety of different community groups and social service organisations based in Kirikiriroa Hamilton.

Tonight,  Rev Brenda Rockell.  Based in Auckland, Brenda was a Baptist preacher for number of years, but has recently become an Anglican Minister.  Brenda will explore the strengths of the different expressions of Christianity, what she values about both, her reasons for changing from Baptist to Anglican, and what she misses about her previous church.

Tonight,  Rev Allan Davidson - the History of NZ churches changing attitude to war.  Allan has written many pieces on variations on this theme, including a recent book about conscientious objectors, army chaplains etc that was dedicated to Alan Leadley
