    "We remain inclusive by..."

    • we made Vaccine Passes mandatory, in November, we have had visitors to EVERY service. It would appear that some people want a safe place for worshipful gatherings.
    • We set up Zoom so that people can join by telephone
    • We have home groups so our older folk can speak and hear better without masks
    • We regularly invite people to our weekly online service and people who had moved away have reconnected with us from overseas and around Aotearoa
    • We offer a weekly half hour podcast called Grace Notes. Also aired on Access Radio Taranaki 104.4FM
    • Our 'Doorstep Nativity': It's our socially distanced version of our annual Christmas movie... filmed on the doorsteps of the homes, sheds, playhuts and front yards of our parish children and youth. They each had 'creative license' to bring their own individual flavour to the nativity story... which is why the angels are singing 'Jingle Bells' to the shepherds, and we have a boy on a baritone playing the theme tune to 'Jaws' when the angels appeared to the shepherds, and the 'star' leads the way for the wise men by shooting a bow and arrow.

      Hope you enjoy!

    • We make sure everyone has a full copy of service so they can follow the service when they telephone or connect in via Zoom
    • We have a picnic style morning tea and really enjoy it!
    • We held Messy Church outside by having an outdoor treasure hunt planned to have people coming into the building at different times to ensure easy physical distancing. Instead of a sit-down supper, we were able to provide a take-away rotisserie chicken meal.
We had good feedback from the families that participated. They liked walking around, talking with each other and spotting all the different treasures in the neighbourhood. We would like to acknowledge and thank “Let the Children Live” who have contributed much to our Messy activities.

     Holy Communion

    Think differently.

Pre-Covid Communion is not an option: Use contactless alternatives.

    "We remain inclusive by..."

    • We supply a Communion meal for visitors and otherwise everyone brings their own to be blessed.
    • Everyone remains in their seat and I come to them
I use teabag tongs to serve with, they don't squash the bread.
    • I offer Communion at home for those who can't attend.
    • Home groups make it easy to create fellowship and to celebrate Communion.
    • I don't like it as much but masks and gloves keep people safe.
    • The pre-packaged Communion cups are a very safe option in these times.
