 Karori Methodism 1843-1946

PROLOGUE

This generation can be likened to a motorist, with his foot hard pressed on the accelerator of a high-powered car, speeding ahead. But we would be much happier if we were more like the rower who, while he moves forward, keeps his eye on the point from which he has come.

This brochure is but a brief glimpse of the past. It is not a history in the approved style. It is just a simple outline, with a little colouring here and there, of the growth and experience of the people of Karori who found faith and life within the fellowship of the Methodist community.

JOHN GROCOTT.
