Falling Leaves by Pamela Beaumont

Falling Leaves by Pamela Beaumont

Preface

It is with tremendous gratefulness that I honour my mother and father in all they did to be partners with me in the mission work God called me to do. At the time they helped me in prayer and very practically with the support I needed, but also kept my letters and collated them. They sent out newsletters from some of what I wrote and, from the feedback from those letters, I discovered that there were people who wanted to hear about what God was doing in Bougainville and the Solomon Islands. My thanks are due to my sisters and brother and their families, for encouragement to get these letters into their present form. Thank you, Rosemary especially, for the cover design. Ben's computer skills have often guided me. A huge volume of help has come from Anne-Marie Pickersgill whose expertise in setting up the manuscript and the illustrations has been immeasurable. Years ago, when I was working on the Siwai New Testament, God clearly gave me the words from 1 Chronicles 28:20,21, that David had given Solomon about building the Temple. "Be confident and determined. Start the work and don't let anything stop you. The Lord God, Whom I serve, will be with you. He will not abandon you, but He will stay with you until you finish the work to be done...Workmen with every kind of skill are eager to help you..." This word was wonderfully fulfilled for me in the New Testament. With this new piece of writing to be published it is happening again. May the Lord receive all the honour and praise for what has been accomplished. I send these pages out with the sincere prayer that they may help someone somewhere. I have already begun to record the next section of the story. Pamela Beaumont
