THE LAND STORY - CASHMERE METHODIST CHURCH AND COMMUNITY CENTRE
 by Elaine Bolitho

This partial presentation of the Cashmere Methodist Land Story covers the earliest aspects of Maori history of the area, the initial sales to the New Zealand Company, and a brief resume of subsequent purchases and building in order to answer the key questions posed by the Connexion. The story of the groups who planned and used the Cashmere Community Centre, along with the 2002 demolition and building a new facility on the Cashmere Avenue School site is told fully in The Vision Restored - Cashmere Methodist Community Centre, by Elaine E Bolitho. This was published May 2003 by the Ngaio Union Church, Wellington, within whose boundaries the land and buildings lie.
