Connexional Korero - Friday 30 July 2021

Kia ora e te whanau

This week Tara talks about getting both her Covid-19 vaccinations.

She went through the experience with no side effects and feels great now that she is doing her part to ensure her whanau are protected and healthy.

Our Church is encouraged to do the same.

There is a lot of misinformation going around at the moment and you are encouraged to use the Ministry of Health website to find the right information.

Trudy has had one shot and had a tender arm (which didn't last long), which is a good sign that the body is learning what it needs to do.

It was easy to make an appointment, with lots of times and options for places that were local.

Some Group 4 people are also eligible to get their vaccines now, so the groups are all progressing into the programme.

Wherever you are, we hope you are getting a text message or call to get arrange for your own vaccination, and we look forward to having a Church that is well, healthy, safe and protected.

Take care whanau! Ka kite!

Kia ora e te whanau

It's great to be with you again.

This week Tara has been viewing the renovations currently taking place at our Church's Auckland's office at 409 Great South Road.

You are all welcome to come and see the results when the work is completed.

Our work continues heading into Conference this November. We hope you are preparing to join us as we come together to talk about our Church and the life of our Church here in Aotearoa.

You are invited to have your say on a 4 year Wellness and health strategic plan which is out for consultation at the moment. We are seeking feedback from now until 31 August 2021 and urge you to feedback through your synod or Hui Poari.

MZNC Weekly Korero - 25 June 2021

Kia ora e te whanau

Lovely to be with you again at the end of the week!  Here's a special should out to Wellington, Poneke, who are in Alert Level 2.

It has been a while since we were at Alert Level 2 and while we sent out a reminder earlier this week about what is expected at Alert Level 2 gathering restrictions etc., one thing we forget is that we need to travel with our bubble.

If someone in Alert Level 2 travels outside of the Alert Level 2 area, they should still follow all of the Alert Level 2 requirements where ever they are.

Wendy Anderson and Trudy Downes recently completed a Property, Liability and Standards of Care webinar and have two further webinars in the pipeline. Details have been shared today.

The first is on July 13 July 6pm regarding Incident Reporting and Thermal Imaging.

Also released today was a consultation document regarding a 4 year strategy for Wellbeing and Safety. This consultation is closing 31 August 2021.

Details on the consultation and webinars are available in the events section (bottom right hand side) of the MCNZ home webpage.

Tara has spent the week at the Auckland office and will give us news about that next week.

Where ever you are in the motu we wish you well for today and the rest of the weekend and we look forward to being with you again next week.

We are here to serve you and the wider Connexion and we are only an email or phone call away.

Hei konei ra.

Kia ora e te whanau

It's great to be with you at the end of another week, and it's particularly great to have here at the Connexional Office our good friend, and Chair of the Board of Administration, Nan Russell. Nan has been here for the past couple of days doing some work on our property and building issues for the Church.

Nan has enjoyed being at the Connexional Office, working through some MCPC matters, and working with the talented Connexional Office team! Nan is confident that some positive things have been done for the Church in this time and thinks she might join us again. She would be made most welcome!

If you missed the webinar on Tuesday regarding Property Liability and Our Standard of Care here is the link Property Liability Standard of Care Webinar.

Nan says "Stay tuned, it is only the beginning of the webinar series and Wendy and Trudy will be sharing some more webinars and the programme will be sent out. It's a good way of keeping up with things that are happening in the Church... it's a really cool programme that has started happening for us. An exciting way to keep in touch with everybody"

"I would also like to say it is quite exciting to see some of the different things that the Church is doing around the Connexion, and the ways that the Connexional Office can support them. I would just remind everybody that there is a lot of support here if you need help with finances, insurance or have other questions. We are here to help the wider Church to make things easier."

However your day is going we wish you all the best.

We are here to support each other as a Connexion. We look forward to hearing from you.

Have a great weekend!
Ka kite.

Weekly Advisory - Friday 21 May 2021

Kia ora e te whanau

It is wonderful to have this opportunity to speak with you again this week.

This week brought two important meetings for our Weteriana whanau and our ecumenical brothers and sisters here in Aotearoa and the Pacific region.

The first was the Methodist Consultative Council of the Pacific where Tara and other church leaders in the region gathered to speak about the common concerns of our churches.

The second meeting was the Annual Dialogue for Christian Unity, held in Wellington. Tara was thankful to be with our our church leaders to discuss ecumenical concerns that we hold in Aotearoa.

Last week, Wendy and Trudy spoke about the webinar being held on Tuesday June 8 regarding Property, Insurance and Standard of Care. Please click on this link to see more details.

Whatever you have been involved with this week, may you have a joyful weekend. We are together as Weteriana on this journey and we uphold each other as we continue on the way.

Kia ora!
